Scope: The Paul Garrin collection contains twelve black and white photographs taken by Paul Garrin (hereafter Garrin) in Chicago and New York in 1982. Photographs featured Nam June Paik in the exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Collection comprises photographs of Nam June Paik demonstrating Magnet TV; performing the first catastrophe of the 21st century with Robot K-456 on Madison Avenue in New York; installing and watching works in exhibition. Included also are photographs of Charlotte Moorman playing TV Cello and performing TV Bra for Living Sculpture at Whitney Museum of American Art.
All twelve photographs were digital printed on paper in 2015. Garrin also added a special collage work of himself with credit print of all photographs. This collection is editioned 2/50 and donated by DO Hyeong Tae from Gallery Hyundai in 2017 to Nam June Paik Art Center Archives.

Abstract: Paul Garrin (hereafter Garrin) is a media artist from the US. Studying fine arts at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York, Garrin collaborated with Nam June Paik from 1982 to 1996, producing lots of media works that fill Paik’s video works. Highlights of the Paul Garrin collection are black and white photographs of Nam June Paik and Charlotte Moorman in 1982.
